David Rojas (Mechanical Engineering)

David Rojas is currently a senior undergraduate student pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Florida International University.

As a Department of Energy (DOE) Fellow, David in collaboration with Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS), is contributing to the development of a Lateral Gamma Scanner, which is aimed at monitoring nuclear waste tanks and assessing the surrounding radiation levels.

In addition to his current academic and research endeavors, David has a keen interest in robotics. This interest is shaping his future academic goals, as he plans to continue his studies in graduate school at Florida International University (FIU) after completing his bachelor’s degree.

David’s journey in mechanical engineering is marked by his involvement in significant projects and his interest in expanding his knowledge into related fields like robotics.
