Eduardo Rojas (Mechanical Engineering)

Eduardo Rojas graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in Summer of 2021. He hopes to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration or Engineering Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship. His areas of interest include sustainability, business/engineering management, and environmental policy and management. Eduardo served as the Vice President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Chapter at FIU. Prior to that, he has served as Outreach Director of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers working with local K-12 schools in the Miami area to promote STEM awareness. He was also an active member of the Toastmasters at FIU Business. Eduardo is passionate about tackling environmental issues currently present in our society.

As part of the DOE Fellows Program funded through the DOE-FIU Cooperative Agreement, Eduardo is working on acquiring high-resolution imagery needed to build a high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM) for detailed delineation/extraction of topographical and hydrologic features to be used for identifying and monitoring naturally occurring depressions on the top cell cover of the DOE Rifle Disposal Site due to environmental factors.
