About DOE Fellow
Kiara Pazan received her Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering at Florida International University in the fall of 2015. Kiara’s personal interests include wastewater treatment and groundwater and soil remediation. Kiara is an active member of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists and the Water Environment Federation. Kiara is currently working at AECOM as an environmental engineer.
DOE Related Projects
As a DOE Fellow, Kiara is working under the mentorship of Ravi Gudavalli in the development and optimization of soil and groundwater remediation and treatment technology. Her current project involves developing an integrated model for the migration and distribution of natural organic matter injected into subsurface systems for Savannah River Site. Her objectives are to investigate sorption and desorption parameters of humic acid (HA) injection through column experiments and determine transport parameters to model migration and distribution of HA injected in the subsurface for in situ treatment.
