Lorryn Andrade is a graduate student and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Fellow pursuing a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at Florida International University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in the fall of 2017. Her research interests include water treatment, in-situ remediation and environmental policies.
Prior to becoming a DOE Fellow, Lorryn worked as a research and development technician, where she gained experience conducting site investigation studies of soil fertility and crop nutrition. She also obtained her Private Pesticide License and provided support to pesticide handlers and agricultural workers to follow the procedures of the “Worker Protection Standard for Agricultural Pesticide” (WPS) through training and mentoring. She also completed a summer internship with the Environmental Ministry of Chile, where she provided support to complete the wetland platform of the Ministry’s website.
