Melissa Dieguez (Biomedical Engineering)

Melissa Dieguez is an undergraduate student at Florida International University (FIU) pursuing her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. She is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Fellow at FIU’s Applied Research Center and is currently under the mentorship of Dr. Yelena Katsenovich. She was officially inducted as a member of the DOE Fellows Class of 2023.

Melissa is focused on the Soil and Groundwater Remediation projects that specialize in environmental remediation, nuclear chemistry, and radioactive waste. After graduating, she plans on continuing her education as a graduate student and working towards earning her Master’s degree.
