About DOE Fellow:
Rubymir Romero graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in April of 2009. In 2006, Rubymir became a McNair fellow and was awarded with the 2006 Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) scholarship at the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation (HENNAC) Conference held in Anaheim, California. She was selected as the scholar of the week for May 28–June 3 by the same organization.
After she left the DOE Fellow’s program, she went to work full-time for Bechtel as a Market Engineer II in communications. Her future goal is to obtain her PE license and obtain a Master’s degree.

Accomplishments as a DOE Fellow:
Rubymir worked with Dr. Jinsong Zhang at ARC and her research involved the development of sensors and sensor networks for environmental applications.
