About DOE Fellow
Mr. Sergiu Fiodorov completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at FIU in the Fall of 2009. His plan for the future is to continue his education and do a summer internship at one of the DOE National Laboratories. As a DOE Fellow (Class of 2008), he is working on a project entitled “Reactive Liquid-Liquid Extraction” that studies the efficiency of several ionic exchangers in removing Hg (II) from aqueous solutions, in support of an Oak Ridge Reservation site project for remediation of surface water.
He is also interested in renewable sources of energy, as well as environmental chemistry and new directions in instrumental analysis.
His hobbies include tennis, literature and foreign languages.
