Melanie Sztybel (Civil Engineering)
Melanie Sztybel is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Florida International University and a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Fellow. Her research interests include hydrological modeling, GIS for environmental applications, and Python programming. She is also an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She was officially inducted as part of the DOE Fellows Class of 2022 and is under the mentorship of Dr. Pieter Hazenberg. Melanie plans on conducting research on the effects of climate change on watershed hydrology while supporting environmental remediation of contaminated DOE sites.
