Rafael Velasquez (Electrical Engineering)

Rafael Velasquez is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Florida International University (FIU) and a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Fellow at FIU’s Applied Research Center (FIU-ARC). Rafael’s professional interests lie in programming and developing embedded systems. As a DOE fellow, Rafael is working on miniaturizing the electronic components for a platform with vertical movement capabilities to apply concrete fixatives. Rafael is also an active member of FIU’s Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDs) chapter. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in fall 2023, Rafael plans pursue a Master’s degree at FIU.
